This filter ran continually for about 2 days when I first received it and cleaned the air in a 14x16 room over that time. Odors that I could not find the source for were eliminated from the room air so I can work on finding the source in the room. It is quiet enough to have in the bedroom and I can easily sleep with it running on low. It is the easiest to maintain with very reasonable cost for replacement filters and should last for many years of use. It has three simple buttons for low, medium and high and is compact enough to be used even in bathrooms, a closet or pantry. You will like this unit.
I've used Honeywell air purifiers for many years. My allergist has one in his office.This one is easy to clean, fairly quiet, and does the job! And it's reasonably priced.
We purchased the Honeywell True HEPA Air Purifier 50250-S, which we ran in the living room/dining room area during the day and moved it into the bedroom at night. It is quite loud for a bedroom, even on a low setting and there still seemed to be dust in the house. We bought the 17000S for the bedroom and left the 50250S in the downstairs area. We run both 24/7 and the dust problem seems to be solved. The 17000S is much quieter, even on the high setting. We run it on medium at night and on high during the day. This two purifier combination works well for us.
Had stuffy nose and cough from dust and pet dander, within 4 hours I could tell a huge difference in how much better the air in the room was. Some complain about the noise but I think its so quiet compared to even the noise a window fan would make. I love my True Hepa Air Purifier 1700-S. The only thing that bothers me is, I wish I had bought 2 of them when they were on sale.
This is my second one and really pleased with its function. The air filters 6 time per hour. Is great for filtering dust, dog hair. There is a low hum/ white noise which helps me sleep well and personally love this. This has also helped with my husband and my allergies. I highly recommend this model "s" as it has a permanent hepa filter. Easy to clean filter with a vacuum.
This is my first experience using an air filter. It was very easy to setup and performs very well. I run it 24/7 even when I am not at home and it removes the stale air smell I used to come home to and cuts down on dusting. I bought it because I have a problem with mold spores and dust. Since running the unit I don't wake up congested and sneezing so I know it works. It's lightweight and comes with a handle and it's not too big of a footprint for my small apartment. I would recommend this unit to anyone that wants to breathe clean air or has allergies.
The first one I bought was so awesome, I gave it to my son. I then turned around and bought one for myself. I have year round allergies and this seems to be helping with that. Only had it a couple of weeks but it has already proven to do exactly what it says it will do.
It was easy to assemble---just wrap the pre-filter around the HEPA filter. Both the HEPA and pre-filter come with the unit. I use it 24 hours a day in the "cats' room" to remove dust from the air. Even though I use litter that is "99%" dust free, there is still some dust that is released into the air whenever I scoop their boxes. This air purifier is quiet enough to Not scare the cats while they are in the room.
I've used this air purifier for about a week now and I really notice a difference in the air. I don't wake up to a stuffed up nose every morning now. It is relatively quiet on low but pretty loud on high. I keep it on high for about a half hour in the room I want to use it in then I switch it to low. I use it in my living room in the daytime and bedroom at night.
this item is good i could see the diffrence. there's not a lot of dust laying around any more.but it does blow out a lot of cold air.so if your house is drafty then i suggest getting a little heater and putting it near it.
